AREAS AFFECTED : NIOBRARA/LOWER ELEVATIONS OF CONVERSE/THUNDER BASIN NATIONAL GRASSLAND; MIDDLE NORTH PLATTE RIVER BASIN/NIOBRARA AND CONVERSE HIGH PLAINS; BORDEAUX/CHUGWATER/WHEATLAND; GOSHEN/MIDDLE-LOWER NORTH PLATTE RIVER BASIN
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM MDT this
evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...417, 418, 432, and 433.
* WIND...Westerly winds 15 to 25 mph gusting up to 35 mph.
* HUMIDITY...13 to 18 percent.
* HIGHEST THREAT...is located along and just east of the Laramie
Range where dry thunderstorms are favored to develop.
* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Widely scattered virga showers are
expected in the afternoon and evening. These will have the
potential to produce dry lightning and gusty and erratic winds,
with little to no precipitation.
