AREAS AFFECTED : INTERIOR KUSKOKWIM DELTA

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Tuluksak, Akiak, Akiakchak, Kwethluk, Bethel, Napaskiak,
Oscarville, and Napakiak.

* WHEN...Through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- For Kwethluk: Ice jammed in the lower Kuskokuak channel at
and just upstream of the Y, or confluence with the Akiak
Channel of the Kuskokwim, has resulted in water rising in and
near Kwethluk. River Watch aerial reconnaissance noted water
has already started inundating surrounding low-level areas
near the community including low spots on Kwethluk St.
Evening aerial reconnaissance noted that ice is flowing along
the Kuskokuak Channel with a 50/50 split at the Kwethluk
entrance. Residents should remain vigilant for continued
rising water levels, particularly in flood-prone lower areas.

Akiak, Akiakchak, and Tuluksak: Ice has let loose on the east
side of island across from Bogus Creek outlet. The main jam
near Tuluksak remains in place with little change. Ice
remains packed on the inside channel by Akiak with the
outside channel seeing free flowing ice sheets remain at the
split, but primarily flowing into the Kuskokuak channel. The
Akiak side remains plugged both above and below Akiakchak.

Ice jams have been observed at/near Tuluksak, a few around
Akiak, and near Bethel, with a decaying jam near Napaskiak
downriver. Almost no intact-original ice is in place above
Bethel, with a mix of broken sheets.
