For the Shenandoah River...including Millville...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

For the Rapidan River...including Culpeper...Minor flooding is 
forecast. 
For the Conococheague Creek...including Fairview...Minor flooding is

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. 
 
* WHERE...Potomac River at Point of Rocks. 
 
* WHEN...From this evening to late Friday evening. 
 
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Water begins to cover the C&O Canal 
towpath near Point of Rocks and Brunswick. 
At 23.0 feet, Floodwaters completely cover the comfort station at 
the Brunswick boat ramp, and reach the comfort station at the 
Point of Rocks boat ramp. The upper parking lot at the Point of 
Rocks boat ramp begins to flood. 
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... 
- At 9:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 4.6 feet, or 11.4 feet 
below flood stage. 
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage 
late this evening to a crest of 22.9 feet tomorrow morning. 
It will then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon. 
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet. 
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 
22.5 feet on 03/08/1967.
