Another surge of heavy rain will fall across the Ketchikan area
through Friday night as an Atmospheric River remains focused on the
southern panhandle.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Near Ketchikan.
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM AKDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Possible isolated landslides in areas of
steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 600 PM AKDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
Ketchikan with minor flooding ongoing.
- Flooding will worsen through the night.
- Between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain have fallen in the last 24
hours.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are possible
through Saturday morning.
- Greatest rainfall rates expected between 7pm to midnight.
- Wind gusts increasing to 40 to 45 mph Friday night.
